Barista Skill course introduces the basics and applications of coffee. This module will help you learn the practical skills required to run an espresso bar from extracting the best espressos, maintaining the machinery to customer service and basic business practices.
The Brewing Craft will dive into the principles of brewing and introduce a variety of traditional and advanced brewing methods. Explore the science of coffee brewing with experiments of traditional and by-pass brewing and learn how to optimize extraction and flavour. The module will also provide an in-depth hands-on approach to learning brewing techniques and competition techniques to pursue the ultimate goal of the perfect cup of coffee.
Latte art has become an essential part of the coffee world. The EUCA recognizes the importance of latte art design, as well as technical proficiency. This module will provide practical sessions to learn infusion, contrast, and symmetry to design state of the art patterns and go beyond patterns with training by highly skilled professional baristas to demonstrate mastery of latte art skills.
Roasting coffee was born at the intersection of art and science. It transforms the chemical and physical properties of coffee beans into roasted coffee products. The Roasting Science module will guide trainees in understanding the complex chemical-physical phenomena as the coffee beans undergo pyrolytic reactions.
The Sensory Cupping & Tasting module provides a professional study of sensory to fine-tune your use and consistency of certain attributes related to cupping coffee, including, taste and tactile sensation. By analyzing various characteristics of coffee through EUCA's advanced and scientific cupping and tasting sessions, trainees will learn sensory skills and knowledge that can be implemented in business.
EUCA Coffee Certification Program
The EUCA Coffee Certification Program (CCP) is designed to educate and train practical coffee techniques with the latest cutting-edge coffee technology, as well as scientific and analytical theories.
The program consists of five different modules that reflect the current trends and expertise of the global coffee industry: Barista Skills, Roasting Science, Sensory Cupping & Tasting, Brewing Craft and Latte Art Design.
Each of the modules is available at different levels (Basic, Expert, Master), with points attached at every stage. Once you have 100 points, you will be awarded the EUCA Barista Diploma.
